Mud Hut Clay Works (MHCW) is contemporary pottery created by Sherri Barr and Lou Cirilli; both native Mississippians, educated in state and southern regions.  MHCW creates utilitarian pieces of art that are most often described as "funky and ecclectic".  Each piece is individually hand-crafted from local and imported clays using only lead free and food safe glazes.
 MHCW draws influences from nature and the world around them including folk, contemporary and traditional pottery.  George Ohr, the mad potter from Biloxi, has impressed upon Lou and Sherri the importance of a "no 2 alike" policy!
 Passionate about the explorative and creative processes of clay, MHCW claims "working in clay" as their labor of love, constantly exploring new avenues for creation, interpretation and expression.
