Judy Tucci was born and
reared in the small town of Baldwyn, Mississippi; attending Northeast
Mississippi Community College where she received her Associate of Arts
Degree. Studying at the University of Mississippi, she earned her
BAE and finished her MAE in 1985. In 1982 she began teaching
in the Art Department at Northeast Community College.
Ms. Tucci's introduction into the medium of watercolor came through a
workshop with MS artist William Baggett and Zolton Zabo but she says most
of what she learned was through experimentation. Numerous awards and
shows later she was awarded Signature Status in the Mississippi Watercolor
Society in 1994.
In 1995 Judy attended a workshop with Alan Flattman and fell in love with
the medium of pastel. A member of the Degas Pastel Society, she has
exhibited with this society in New Orleans. Though she enjoys
working in pastels, Judy has begun to dabble in oils and finds the medium
exciting.
