Barbara Cerniglia has been painting since she was a child in upper state New York. Her mother is an artist and was quick to recognize and encourage her talent. Working in mixed media she explores a variety of styles but her work is all connected by her use of color and expression. Abstract expression best describes her work but more often than not with a recognizable theme. Light through the trees, landscapes open to personal interpretation, pure studies in color and line... "I was encouraged through the years to express myself in my own unique way. I hope to pass that encouragement on... Art is a form of communication: Viewing art should be as individual as painting it."
Barbara has had over a dozen one-artist shows and participated in many group exhibits. Her work has been awarded numerous honors including Best of Show, First Place and Honorable Mention.
