John Gibson is a retired physician previously on the faculty of the University of Mississippi Medical Center Department of Radiology.
Art has been an avid hobby of John's since childhood. As a physician John has an extensive education but is self taught in the field of art. He has explored various media and techniques in his years of study but has always gone back to drawing, feeling that the soul of the artist is exposed in drawing more than in other methods. John adopted the pointillist pen and ink technique as his method of choice approximately 25 years ago. Being retired from medicine for the past seven years John has had more time to work on improving his art skills and time is definitely a key factor in his work since each drawing is composed entirely of dots and requires many hours to complete.
