M. M. Davis
paints exclusively in the medium
of oil and limits his
subject matter to still life. His style is "traditional realism," a
style associated with Rembrandt and the other Dutch Masters, and one
that continues today in the works of such renowned painters as David
Leffel, Sherrie McGraw , and Greg Kreutz.
Mr. Davis has received instruction from the nationally acclaimed
artists Sherrie McGraw of Taos, NM, Robert Johnson of Washington,
D.C., and Greg Kreutz, a resident teacher of the Art Students League
of New York City. He has also studied with Mississippi artists Mary
Lane Reed, Carol Epperson, and Bob Pennebaker. His paintings have
been auctioned in charity events sponsored by American Heart
Association, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, National Kidney Foundation,
and Rankin Health Foundation. Mr. Davis is a resident of Jackson,
Mississippi.
