Toni Spink is a self taught artist who began painting seriously when she became an "empty nester".

As she has learned to "see" like a painter, subject became almost secondary to a fascination with color, texture, shapes and the way the medium (oil, acrylic, watercolor) responded to different supports and methods of application.  In short, she loves to experiment, always thinking, "what if?".

She worried for awhile that she hadn't found a particular "style".  Then she recalled the words of a well known artist/teacher.  "Style" is not as important as conveying your feeling about what you choose to paint."  Mixed media and collage are her first love, but oil and watercolor are not far behind!
 

Through the years, her paintings have found homes across the country, including columnist Rheta Johnson, and commissions locally for a fast food chain.  She's supplying a growing demand in her area for portraits of homes and pets, and is involved in a local Co-op gallery.  Toni lives near Glen, MS with husband Richard and two cats.  She is represented in Jackson, MS by Southern Breeze Gallery.
